Judging from President-elect Donald Trump’s comments in his press conference on Jan. 7, we had better prepare ourselves for four years of his preposterous stream-of-consciousness obsessions.
He has refused to rule out using military force to take over Greenland and the Panama Canal. He wants to use economic pressure to force Canada to become our 51st state. He wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” — because it has a nice ring to it. And he weighed in on such crucial questions as low-flow shower heads and the existential danger posed to whales by those infernal windmills erected off the coasts.
