After serving as Commercial Sales Manager at Hartel’s Disposal since 2015 and with 37 years in Sales and Marketing, Scott G. Soderberg retired on December 30, 2024. A Duluth native and UMD graduate, he remains active in the community. Hartel’s Disposal wishes him the best in his retirement.

Melvin and Ruth (Hanson) Cauchon were married on December 18th, 1954, at First Lutheran Church in Duluth, Minnesota. They have four children: David (Jamie), Richard, Tammy (Randy), and Steven. They also have two grandchildren, Chad (Taylor) and Ryan, and two great-grandchildren, Berkley and Banks. We wish them many more beautiful years together.

Adalyn E.K. Lowinski’s Golden Birthday on Nov. 10th, 2024, turning double digits! Great Grandpa Michael John Parendo 9/23/1924 - 8/6/2024, was so close to turning 100 years old. We always shared a special bond being 90 years apart. Love & miss you great gramps!

Doug and Boni Bieniek of Two Harbors are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a private party at their home on September 28th. Bieniek and the former Boni Block were married on Tuesday, October 1st, 1974, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Paul.

Bob and Nancy Unden celebrated their 76th anniversary this past July 23rd. Nancy Jo ( Johnson) graduated from Central High in 1947 while Bob attended Salter Auto mechanics school. The following physicians were honored at the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program’s graduation on June 23, 2024. These outstanding physicians are a credit to the specialty of Family Medicine and will be joining clinics and hospitals in Minnesota and around the country.
