The agency Greenfield Communications, founded in Duluth in 2005, has changed its name to now be Greenfield Public Relations. Owner Steve Greenfield (pictured here) says that while the word "Communications" encompassed its public relations, advertising, focus group research and other communications-related services, the name did not reflect the specialty for which the company is best known.

Lisa Karlgaard, PE, has been promoted to Senior Structural Engineer at LHB. She joined the firm in 2006 and is a member of LHB’s bridge design group. With 21 years of experience, Karlgaard provides field assessment, federal reporting, historic planning studies, bridge rating and design, historic rehabilitation plan and special provision preparation, and construction administration. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering degree from the University of North Dakota.

Megan Goplin, PE, has been promoted to Civil Engineering Manager. She joined LHB in 2015 and has more than 17 years of experience in site, stormwater, utility, roadway, intersection, and accessibility design for public and private clients. Goplin manages projects through all phases of design and construction. She specializes in public infrastructure projects for city and county clients and is well-versed in state and federal funding requirements. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Phil Waugh, LEED AP, has been named vice president of the Integrative Design Team (IDT) at LHB, an engineering, architecture, and planning firm with offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin. With over two decades of experience, Waugh joined LHB in 2014. He has managed hundreds of projects in multiple markets, notably historic preservation and K-12 education. He now leads IDT as it delivers design solutions for buildings, sites, and infrastructure across the commercial, education, healthcare, government, and housing sectors.

The Marshall H. and Nellie Alworth Memorial Fund, founded in 1949 to provide scholarships to exceptional northern Minnesota students, has named Heidi M. Hahn, EdD, to a five-year term on its Board of Directors.
