Lisa Johnson has been a television and radio reporter, anchor and producer over half her life. She started her broadcast career anchoring the television news at her high school and spinning country music at KWWK/KOLM Radio in Rochester, Minnesota. She was a reporter and news anchor at KTHI TV in Fargo, ND and KTTC TV in Rochester, and a radio reporter and anchor in Moorhead, Bismarck, Wahpeton and Fergus Falls.
For the last 30 years, Lisa produced and hosted Northland Morning on KUMD radio, a community public radio station based at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She enjoyed "paying it forward" by mentoring upcoming journalists and broadcasters on the student news team and introducing the different people she met in her job to one another, helping to forge new "community connections" and partnerships.
In 2021, Lisa and her dogs relocated to western Minnesota to be closer to family. She has amassed a book collection weighing over two tons, and she enjoys reading, photography, drinking coffee, volunteering with area humane societies, talking about dogs, and fantasizing about farmland. She's been a regular visitor to Alexandria for the last 30 years, but is happy to relocate, finally. She is also an unabashed morning person.
