June Avis Alsop

June Avis (Hansen) Alsop, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, after 101 incredible years of life.
Born Jan. 30, 1924, to John and Anna Bergeta (Fossen) Hansen, June was the youngest of six. She graduated from Central High School (’42) and St. Luke’s School of Nursing (’45) before marrying her high school sweetheart, Bob, on April 13, 1946. June was a gracious host, a lifelong learner, and a devoted community and church volunteer.
June’s greatest gift was how she loved—with intention, devotion, and generosity. She had a magical way of making each family member feel like they were the most special. And to her, they all were.
She is preceded in death by Bob, her parents, and siblings. She is survived by her children, Karen (John) Crandall, Susan (Stephen) Asp, Marilyn (Chris) Hull, and Robert III (Natalie) Alsop; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, brother-in-law Donald Alsop, and many nieces and nephews.
