Future Bulldog shines at IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship

Canadian goaltender Marilou Grenier, a Minnesota Duluth recruit, shined at the 2025 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship this month in Finland, backstopping Canada to gold.

Grenier made 14 saves on 14 shots to shut out the United States 3-0 in the gold-medal game. It was her second shutout of the tournament, as the future Bulldog finished with a 1.00 goals against average and .936 save percentage in four games, all wins.

Grenier won bronze with Canada last year at the U18 Women’s Worlds, but didn’t get in to any games. The 17-year-old from Quebec, who turns 18 this month, likely will not come to UMD until the 2026-27 season at the earliest.
