Friday will start mostly sunny across the Duluth region, with temperatures warming to afternoon highs in the lower 70s. Winds will fortunately be much lighter as well, with gusts mainly under 25 mph and sustained winds only at 10-20 mph out of the west-northwest. Into Friday night, we will be looking out for a few showers to push into the area as temperatures cool into the mid-50s.

For Saturday, a cloudier start to the day will turn over to partly sunny skies by the afternoon. A stray sprinkle is not completely out of the question, but otherwise, we look dry and quiet. Temperatures top out in the low 70s.

The tail end of the weekend looks more on the sunny side, followed by some more rain chances into Tuesday. Looking beyond then, a bit of a warm-up looks likely into the midweek with temperatures back into the mid- to upper 70s.

Growing up in southern Wisconsin, my love of all things weather started at the age of 5, fascinated by storms rolling in during summer and blizzards blowing through in winter. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May 2023, having worked with the university's unique Innovative Weather operational forecasting program as well from 2021 through 2024. I moved to Fargo to start here at WDAY in May 2024.
