Reader's View: Palestinians just want to go home

The uselessness of war in Gaza has never been more apparent.

Reader's View.jpg

It is all quite simple, starting with the Nakba, the forced displacement of 250,000 Palestinians, in 1948. Palestinians have been living in no man's land ever since, and Israel has worked very hard to turn Palestinians into desperate and suicidal terrorists.

Israel can go back under the protection of its Iran Dome, stop the immoral hunting of defenseless territories, and work out a nonviolent deal to get hostages released. Because all of this slaughtering it is doing in Gaza is beyond comprehension.

Where is the outrage in America? Everyday I read the paper that Israel has blown up more civilians, and Israel continues to hit humanitarian safe zones and kill Palestinians, and their safe zones are set up by Israel. This is beyond insane.

And on what planet does President Donald Trump live? His tough talk toward Hamas is out of touch. What is he going to do, turn the rubble that is now Gaza into smaller chunks of rubble? There are no tough-guy-military options left. Is he thinking of a nuclear bomb upon Gaza? The uselessness of war in Gaza has never been more apparent.

To say this is about terrorism, radical Islam, and antisemitism is a false narrative and done to avoid dealing with the truth. The truth of this is simple: The Palestinians are trying to get their ancestral land back. Probably not going to happen, but that is what this is about. Palestinians want to go home.
