The Jan. 18 “Local View” column in the News Tribune, “ How do presidential executive orders jibe with the Constitution? ,” provided a fascinating and insightful history and illustrated why critics have dubbed executive orders as "legislation by other means." With the new president releasing a blizzard of new orders, it is important for citizens to more closely examine this often-overlooked issue.
