PROCTOR — Proctor’s Lily Smith and Chloe Carlson each scored 16 points in the 75-52 win over Hermantown, but for Smith it had a little more significance.
Early in the second half, Smith hit a 3-pointer that pushed her past 1,000 career points.

Peyton Walker added 13 points for the Rails and Paige Evans joined them in double figures with 10.
Proctor (16-1) jumped out to a 43-21 halftime lead and cruised to the rivalry game victory.
Bailey Hermanson led Hermantown (10-5) with 16 points.

Duluth Marshall freshman Chloe Johnson scored 37 points in the blowout home win for the Hilltoppers.
Junior Cairin Berger added 20 points for Marshall (10-6).
Esko 66, Barnum 27
Clara Swanson scored 18 points to lead Esko past the Bombers on Thursday, Jan. 16 in Esko.
Swanson was joined in double figures by Layla Peterson with 14 points and Kaitlyn McConnell with 12 as Esko got to 7-10 on the season.

Sophia Frank led the Bombers (10-4) with 11 points.
Moose Lake/Willow River 66, Pillager 52
Tyler Orvedahl and Madison Wasche each scored 18 points to lead the Rebels to a convincing win Thursday.
Piper Nielsen and Madison Volk each added 10 points for MLWR (5-7).
Alivia Brown led Pillager with 16 points.
Two Harbors 61, Carlton/Wrenshall 37
Rachel Bopp scored 21 points as the Agates cruised to the 24-point home win.
Trinity Giddings added nine points and Belle Bolle had seven for Two Harbors (8-6).
Brielle Simula led the Raptors (3-12) with 14 points.

Greenway 80, Hill City 41
Gage Olson scored 35 points to lead the Raiders to the rout over Pillager.
Stephen McGee added 15 points for Greenway (5-7) and Mekhi McCoy scored 12.
Northwestern 74, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser 32
Boden Teal scored 17 points for the Tigers, but it was a stifling defense that secured the Heart O North Conference win Thursday in Maple.
Northwestern led 40-27 at halftime, but throttled Bulldogs from there on, allowing just five second half points.
Tysen Teal and Camden Kroll each finished with 16 points for the Tigers (6-4, 5-2 HON).
Brodrick Olson scored 11 to lead Chetek-Weyerhaeuser.
BOYS HOCKEY
Rock Ridge 9, Proctor 2
The Wolverines unleashed their offense on Thursday night at Iron Trail Motors Event Center, as both Caz Carlson and Cal Scott had a hat trick in their big win.

Rock Ridge scored four goals in the game’s first 8:28, and though the Rails recovered to cut that lead in half, it was all Wolverines the rest of the way. Scott, in particular, had a massive night, adding four assists (three in the first period alone) to his goals to make for a seven-point game
Jackson Bartovich had a goal and two assists for Rock Ridge (14-3-1), while Alvaro Ramazzini and Breckin Ross scored for the Rails (8-8-1).
International Falls 3, Greenway 0
Blayne Kelly made 42 saves for the Raiders but they couldn’t generate offense in front of him, as two goals from Anthony Yerxa were more than enough for the Broncos to get a win at Hodgins-Berardo Arena in Coleraine.
GIRLS HOCKEY
Northern Lakes 3, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton 2 (OT)
Brooke Koski and Reese Kuklinski scored for the Lumberjacks, but the host Lightning prevailed in overtime on Rayna Hopia’s goal at Breezy Point Ice Arena in Pequot Lakes.
Izzy Strang made 23 saves for CEC, which fell to 5-15-1 on the season.
Hibbing/Chisholm 4, Fort Frances 2
Kendal Gustavsson had two goals and an assist as the Bluejackets prevailed in some international play at Hibbing Memorial Arena.
Audrey Minor and Lauren Ringhofer got the hosts going with goals in the first period, working around the fact that the Bluejackets were outshot 15-6 in the frame.

The visitors cut a 3-0 lead to 3-2 but Gustavsson scored on the power pay with 29 seconds left to seal it.
Bryjah Schnipkoweit made 34 saves for Hibbing/Chisholm (5-13-2).
