Periods of rain and some cooler temperatures to start the week

A dry start on Sunday gives way to some scattered showers and storms into the workweek, with cooler temperatures at times too.

Sunday will start off dry and mainly sunny as we see temperatures climbing towards near 70°. Easterly winds off of the lake may try to stunt that for lakeside spots though. Otherwise, by the later hours, we will see showers and some thunderstorms push in from the west, arriving in the Duluth area mainly into the overnight hours. A couple of the storms could briefly be on the stronger side.

Showers linger into Monday morning, with drier weather then into the later hours, though much of the cloud cover will be holding throughout the day. Highs cool into the mid 60s.

More scattered showers and thunderstorms are again possible on Tuesday, with highs fluctuating between the 60s and 70s through the week.

Growing up in southern Wisconsin, my love of all things weather started at the age of 5, fascinated by storms rolling in during summer and blizzards blowing through in winter. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May 2023, having worked with the university's unique Innovative Weather operational forecasting program as well from 2021 through 2024. I moved to Fargo to start here at WDAY in May 2024.
