DULUTH — Mister Car Wash recently opened in Duluth Heights, marking the first business in operation within the up-and-coming Jigsaw development by Minneapolis-based Launch Properties.
Construction is still underway for a Popeyes restaurant, a quick-serve salad concept restaurant, a drive-thru coffee kiosk and an aesthetic studio on the two remaining lots. Launch Properties also developed another Duluth site, Miller Hill Crossroads, 320 W. Myrtle St., home to Aspen Dental and Starbucks, which both opened in 2018.

Neither Popeyes nor Launch Properties responded to the News Tribune's inquiries regarding anticipated opening dates or construction updates for Jigsaw.
Mister Car Wash is located at the intersection of Anderson Road and Central Entrance at 604 W. Central Entrance.

A steady stream of vehicles has been cycling through the Mister Car Wash tunnel since it opened Dec. 17, General Manager Jason Hanratty said.
“The wintertime is actually our busy season,” Hanratty said. “Everybody wants to ensure that they keep that salt off of their car.”
Hanratty began working for Mister Car Wash three years ago after the company acquired three Top Wash sites in the Twin Cities metro. He has about eight years’ experience in the industry and was grateful for the opportunity to relocate to Duluth from the Cities to manage the Mister Car Wash, he said.

Mister Car Wash is a publicly traded company with 500 locations across 22 states. It uses a signature product line. Customers may opt for a single wash during their visit or enroll in a monthly unlimited plan that is valid at all locations.
Duluth’s express wash location offers exterior cleaning services and self-serve vacuums.

“We meet and greet you at the kiosk,” Hanratty said. “You actually just stay in your car and we do the rest. We guide you on to a conveyor, which is going to help send you through a time sequence of events for getting the vehicle cleaned and dry and shiny.”
