GiveMN launched in 2009 as a collaborative venture led by the Minnesota Community Foundation. Its annual event aims to gather organizations under one roof — or in this case, on a single webpage — and encourage Minnesotans to donate to their favorite organizations on a single day.

With the 2024 campaign under its belt, GiveMN announced that Give to the Max Day has raised more than $365 million over its first 16 years.

In addition to local, statewide and out-of-state donations, GiveMN also drew lotteries for prizes throughout the day, including a $10,000 super-sized Golden Ticket, 24 $1,000 hourly Golden Tickets and 96 $500 Golden Tickets drawn every 15 minutes.

The 2024 recipient of the Super-Sized Golden Ticket was Our Justice, of Minneapolis. Our Justice provides abortion assistance funding and lodging for those seeking treatment, curbside Plan B, and safer sex kits. The organization also advocates to ensure that "all people and communities have the power and resources to make sexual and reproductive health decisions with self-determination," according to its GiveMN profile.
