Hermantown voters elect 3 to school board

Two newcomers and one incumbent won seats.

DULUTH — An incumbent and two new members were elected to the Hermantown School Board, according to unofficial results Wednesday morning.

Jodi McShane, an implementation project manager at UnitedHealthcare, was the top vote-getter with 26.78%, followed by first-term incumbent Ashley McFarland, a nonprofit executive (24.06%), and nurse practitioner Eric Griffith (20.76%).

Russ Salgy, executive director of Valley Youth Center, and David Lokke, a brand manager at Townsquare Media, did not win seats on the board.

The nonpartisan board members are elected to four-year terms.

Board members Lindsay Clauson and Heather Holst did not seek reelection.
