City of St. Cloud yet to be reimbursed $209K for Trump/Vance rally

St. Cloud city officials told St. Cloud LIVE that the nearly $209K invoice for the July 27 rally has yet to be paid as of Sept. 9

ST. CLOUD — The city of St. Cloud has yet to be reimbursed for costs related to the Donald Trump and J.D. Vance rally in July, according to DeAnna Fah, the city's finance director.

Fah previously told St. Cloud LIVE that the rally cost the city nearly $209,000. She said that included costs for police services ($63,267), change order of University Drive ($61,878), public services ($60,510), fire department ($21,420) and information technology ($1,857).

The July 27 rally was at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on the campus of St. Cloud State University.

St. Cloud State University athletic director Holly Schreiner previously told St. Cloud LIVE that the Trump/Vance campaign paid the university's $35,000 fee on Aug. 1.

The rally attracted thousands on a steamy Saturday when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees.

The St. Cloud event comes two weeks after an assassination attempt against the Republican nominee for president at a July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The protest will be in downtown St. Cloud and end with a rally on the steps of the Stearns County Courthouse.
The campaign's first appearance in Minnesota is expected to bring a major influx of visitors, with nearly a dozen local hotels sold out as of Wednesday morning.
Dan Anderson, a Brainerd native who now lives in Sartell, worked more than 18 hours at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on Saturday, July 27.
Several current and former presidents and vice presidents have visited St. Cloud for more than 70 years. That includes Eisenhower, Clinton and both George Bushes.
