Speculation over the future of the Minnesota Vikings, especially at quarterback, has been swirling ever since the NFL season ended.
Free agent Kirk Cousins signed a lucrative contract (four years, $180 million) with Atlanta. The Vikings signed Sam Darnold, but also added a second first-round pick. Many experts anticipate Minnesota will bundle a draft day trade — the Vikings currently have the 11th and 23rd overall picks — to move up and select a quarterback in a class loaded with offensive talent.

The speculation could come to an end Thursday night in the draft, perhaps before the Vikings are on the clock if they choose to jump up the draftboard to select a player.
Since joining the league in 1961, the Vikings have drafted two or more players in the first round on 11 occasions.
The last time that Minnesota used multiple picks in the first round came in 2020 with the selection of wide receiver Justin Jefferson and cornerback Jeff Gladney.

- Minnesota had the top overall pick twice: 1961 and 1968. The Vikings chose Tommy Mason, a running back from Tulane and three-time Pro Bowl selection, with the team's first-ever pick. Seven years later, Minnesota selected Ron Yary, a USC tackle who was eventually selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
