More than six months after Minnesota Vikings cornerback Khyree Jackson and two of his high school teammates were killed in an automobile accident, a motorist has been indicted in connection with the fatal wreck.
At a press conference on Thursday, Aisha Braveboy, the state’s attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland, announced Cori Clingman was in custody after a grand jury returned a 13-count indictment against the 23-year-old woman. After being arrested without incident on Thursday, Clingman will have a bond hearing on Friday, Braveboy said.

The charges against Clingman include grossly negligent and criminally negligent vehicular manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter related to driving under the influence, Braveboy said.
According to the Maryland State Police report on the accident, Jackson was a passenger in a Dodge Charger that was involved in a three-vehicle wreck in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. State Troopers responded to the accident at 3:14 a.m. EDT on July 6.
The Maryland State Police's preliminary investigation indicated an Infiniti Q50 driven by Clingman struck the Charger and a Chevrolet Impala while attempting a lane change at a high rate of speed. The Charger left the road and hit several tree stumps, the police report said.
While the occupants of the other two vehicles were uninjured, the three occupants of the Charger, including driver Isaiah Hazel, and passenger Anthony Lytton Jr., were killed. Lytton and Hazel were teammates of Jackson’s at Dr. Henry Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro.
“Everyone loved them,” Braveboy said on Thursday. “I went to their vigil that was held at Wise High School, and the stories that people told weren’t just about stories on the field, they were stories in the classroom, in the hallways, in their churches, in their families. These were whole human beings who had a right to be here. We should be seeing Mr. Jackson in the NFL right now.”
Jackson was 15 days away from reporting for his first NFL training camp. Jackson joined the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on April 27 from Oregon, where the cornerback played in 2023 after spending the previous two seasons at Alabama.
