ST. CLOUD — Nine people were brought to the emergency trauma center at CentraCare - St. Cloud Hospital on Saturday, July 27, for heat-related concerns during a Donald Trump rally, according to CentraCare spokesperson Karna Fronden.
Republican presidential nominee Trump and running mate J.D. Vance appeared inside the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center at St. Cloud State University.

However, thousands waited for hours outside of the rally in temperatures in the 90s for most of the day, according to the National Weather Service. Saturday's high in St. Cloud was 93. The doors for the event opened at 3 p.m.

Several people at the event were seen on the ground receiving treatment from emergency medical staff Saturday.
St. Cloud Assistant Police Chief Brett Mushatt on Monday, July 29, said police took about 50 medical calls on Saturday. They included heat-related incidents but other injuries as well, such as attendees falling or hurting their ankles, etc.
